🎨 How to color it

Color the ninja’s hood deep indigo, the swirling scarf bright crimson, the shuriken steel gray, and the pagoda roofs jade green. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny costume patterns and halftone dots, then switch to markers for the big scarf and cloud shapes. Try making the lightning bolts neon yellow against a cool violet sky so the pop-art zigzags feel extra electric.

Under the safest eave of the storm pagodas, Quin drew three chalk marks on his sleeve and whispered, “Thunder-Step: jump on the rumble, freeze on the flash.” He wanted one brass star token from the wind bell across the courtyard, just to prove his new game worked. Rain smelled like cold stone. The first rumble rolled—brummm—and Quin sprang from the eave into the bright, rattling air.

Halfway over the tiles, the storm played back. Flash—freeze. Rumble—step. A gust snatched his scarf and snapped it loose, the small price for reaching the bell. But behind the bell’s clang, Quin heard another sound: tap-tap, tap-tap-tap, from the upper pagoda shutters. Not thunder. A secret signal.

Quin caught the brass star, then tied his scarf to the bell rope so it could answer the shutters in the same pattern. He returned soaked, shivering, and grinning with a better game: not Thunder-Step, but Thunder-Listen. If you follow the zigzags and stars, can you find where the storm first whispered tap-tap?
