🎨 How to color it

Color the rabbit soft warm gray, the clover leaves spring green, the daisy-like blooms butter yellow and white, and the hills pale blue-green. Use sharp colored pencils for the many tiny clover petals and flower centers, then switch to broader side-strokes for the open hills and clouds. Try making the single blossom near the rabbit’s nose a secret lavender-pink so it feels like the meadow’s special clue.

The story behind this coloring page

Nix and the Whisper Bloom — Under the noon clouds, Nix nosed through the high meadow for one sweet clover sprig to tuck beside his burrow door. Read the full story →

Under the noon clouds, Nix nosed through the high meadow for one sweet clover sprig to tuck beside his burrow door. The wind smelled of warm grass and peppery daisies, and every clover head looked almost right, but not quite. Then a round bloom near his whiskers shivered and whispered, “Not that one.”

Nix froze. Inside the flower sat a silver-specked moth, her wings dusty as moon flour. She pointed one feeler toward the far buttercups. “My hatchlings wake when the sun slides low, and the nectar cups are dry.” Nix wanted his lucky clover, but he hopped out past prickly stems and buzzing grasshoppers, leaving bits of his soft fur on a thorny burr. At the buttercups, he tipped three heavy petals so their gold drops rolled into a curled leaf.

He carried the leaf back and set it under the whisper bloom without calling for thanks. By sunset, the moth was gone, but a four-leaf clover waited where his paw had pressed the grass. Next time you spot Nix by that round blossom, see if you can keep the meadow’s whisper secret under the noon clouds.
