🎨 How to color it

Color the rabbit soft warm gray, the pine tree deep evergreen, the rolling snowbanks pale icy blue, and the snowflakes bright white with blue outlines. Use chunky crayons or broad marker strokes for the rabbit’s big body and the smooth hills, saving a sharper pencil for the pine needles and snowflake arms. Try a twilight background in lavender or light blue so the white flakes and the rabbit’s round tail still pop.

The story behind this coloring page

Nell’s Pocket Snowflake — Under a hush-hush sky, Nell carried a flat paper snowflake in her pocket. Read the full story →

Under a hush-hush sky, Nell carried a flat paper snowflake in her pocket. She had cut it from the wrapper around her first winter carrot, and she wanted a quiet place to open it without the burrow’s warm elbows bumping her paws. Snow tapped her ears: tick, tick, tick.

At the ridge, she sat by a small pine and unfolded the paper. The creases made six arms, then six tiny windows. “Hello, little map,” Nell whispered. A real snowflake landed on it and fit every line. Then another did too. Nell looked up and saw the clouds had been folding the same secret all along. She tucked the paper close, exactly where it belonged; next time you see those wide rabbit ears under falling snow, can you spot the little map in the hush-hush sky?
