🎨 How to color it

Color the rabbit’s bold outline in soft ivory and warm gray, the tiny carrots in bright orange with parsley green tops, and the layered flowers in rose, teal, and golden yellow. Use sharp colored pencils for the tight curls, leaf veins, and small dots, working from the center flower on the belly outward so your hand does not smudge finished details. For a quiet twist, shade the leafy background in pale sage and leave a few inner ear spirals white so the hidden carrots feel like little lanterns.

The story behind this coloring page

Arden’s First Far Carrot — The kettle clicked softly in the fern conservatory, and Arden set out a cup with both paws. Read the full story →

The kettle clicked softly in the fern conservatory, and Arden set out a cup with both paws. One bitterleaf would make the tea right, but the only fresh sprigs grew past the glass door, where evening pressed blue against every pane. He slipped from the rug-warm den into the damp aisle. Fronds brushed his ears with cool fingers. A loose pebble nicked one toe; he kept walking anyway, breathing in wet soil and the peppery smell of leaves.

At the far bench, the bitterleaf pot stood empty. Arden’s ears sank. Then a faint rattle came from an old listening shell no one touched, tucked under a tray of seed labels. Inside was not a shell-sound, but a tiny carrot charm, carved smooth as a raindrop, tied to a curl of paper: For the first one brave enough to come this far. Arden carried the charm back, brewed plain tea, and found it tasted sweeter while the kettle clicked softly.
