Every dusk, Orlo roared into the ink jungle to tune the leaves, and every dusk the ferns applauded with dry little clacks. Until one day a curly vine dropped beside his whiskers and whispered, “Too serious.” Because of that, Orlo tried a polite cough; because of that, the monstera leaves began heckling in squeaky holes. Finally he opened his jaws wide, not grand but gloriously ridiculous, and the whole green wall shook with laughter, clatter, and the peppery smell of crushed stems. At last, among teasing leaves, Orlo’s roar sounded exactly at home.
