🎨 How to color it

Give the scientist’s lab coat a clean white with pale blue shadows, her hair a deep chestnut, the microscope a cool gray, and the flasks soft teal and amber. Use sharp colored pencils for the microscope knobs, shelf bottles, and the curved atom lines, then switch to smoother strokes for the large coat panels. Try making the atom symbol glow in bright yellow behind her head, like the lab has just sparked with a wild idea.

Every day after the last tour group left, Quinn wiped the long black lab table, lined up the glass bottles by height, and played her new game: Invisible Maze. She put a drop of pond water under the microscope, chose one zippy speck as the racer, and drew its twists on a clipboard while the air smelled like lemon cleaner and metal shelves clicked in the cooling room.

Until one day, her racer refused every path. It dashed left, bounced right, and made the same tiny loop around a shining crumb. Because of that, Quinn turned the focus knob so fast it purred, and the crumb flashed blue. Because of that, every bottle on the back shelf gave a soft tink-tink, as if answering a secret bell. “No way,” Quinn whispered, and added a new rule: follow what glows.

The blue crumb led her speck to three more sparks, then to a hair-thin crack in the slide where pond water was leaking away. Quinn sealed it with a square of clear tape just before the maze dried to dust. Afterward, she taped her map beside the microscope for tomorrow’s players. If you spot the bright atom and all those waiting bottles, can you guess where Quinn will send the next racer through the Invisible Maze?
