🎨 How to color it

Give the diplodocus a soft moss green body, darker olive back plates and spots, tan rocks, and bright leaf-green fern fronds. Use chunky crayons or markers for the dinosaur’s big body and tail, then try a sharper green pencil for the many skinny fern leaves. For a fun twist, color the tail bands in two gentle greens so it looks extra wiggly across the path.

Dibble Waits for a Wiggle — Every morning, Dibble stretched his long neck over Fern Valley to sniff the highest sour sprig. He never rushed; he counted cloud puffs while the warm leaves brushed his chin. Read the full story →

Every morning, Dibble stretched his long neck over Fern Valley to sniff the highest sour sprig. He never rushed; he counted cloud puffs while the warm leaves brushed his chin. Until one day, the sprig twitched and said, “Kindly stop sniffing my hat!”

Because of that, Dibble froze so hard his tail made a dusty loop. A tiny pebble beetle popped out, wearing the fern tip like a green cap. Because of that, Dibble waited while the beetle marched down, slowly, slowly, tickle-tap-tap. Finally, the beetle handed him one perfect sour leaf. Next time you see Dibble’s smile among the ferns, guess how long he had to wait.
