By the warm pond, Pip patted mud with his two flat feet. Pat-pat, splat-splat! He wanted to make the roundest mud pie ever.
The reeds tickled his bill. The water went plip. Pip poked in grass for one smooth pebble to put on top.
Then—boing!—out popped a tiny yellow leaf hiding under the reeds. “Aha!” quacked Pip. He stuck it in the pie like a silly sun.
