🎨 How to color it

Color the horse a soft chestnut, the flowing mane in caramel and cocoa stripes, the daisies sunny yellow, and the roses coral pink. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny berries, leaf veins, and layered flower petals, then switch to smoother strokes on the horse’s broad face and neck. Try a secret-crown effect by making one small berry cluster metallic gold while keeping the surrounding leaves cool green.

The story behind this coloring page

The Crown That Knew Home — Under the sticker hedge, Vesper nudged her flower crown with one careful hoof. Read the full story →

Under the sticker hedge, Vesper nudged her flower crown with one careful hoof. The garden bell would ring at dusk, and she wanted one blue bellflower to finish the circle above her ears. The daisies smelled peppery, the roses smelled like warm jam, but no bellflower nodded among the leaves. So she stepped beyond the safe hedge into the quiet seed path, where dry pods clicked like tiny doors.

A thorn snagged one ribbon from her crown. Vesper left it there, though the bare spot tickled in the cool air. Past the lavender stones, she found no bellflower—only a round berry bead caught under a curled leaf. When she touched it, the bead split with a soft pop. Inside was a folded petal marked with three dots and a loop: the old sign for “come back.”

“Home was hiding the answer?” Vesper whispered. She carried the petal back, and the snagged ribbon fluttered from the thorn like a flag. Beneath the very daisy over her left ear, a bellflower bud opened, blue as evening. Next time you spot the tiny berries in her crown, see if one still guards the secret that led Vesper back under the sticker hedge.
