🎨 How to color it

Color the monster’s fur soft lavender, its belly pale mint, the striped horns lemon yellow and coral, and the surrounding stars sunny gold. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big round body and belly, then trace the horn stripes and tiny claws slowly if your child wants. Try making the cheek ovals rosy pink and the curly swirls sky blue, like secret magic floating around the smile.

The story behind this coloring page

Under the silver grass of Moon Meadow, Pip pressed both paws over his mouth. His giggles were getting too big. Hic-hic, hum-hum, they buzzed in his striped horns like bees in a jar. If he laughed too loud, the sleepy moths would scatter.

Then a tiny clink came from one horn. Pip tipped his head. Out rolled a star no bigger than a cookie crumb, warm as toast and smelling faintly of honey. “Oh!” Pip whispered. More stars popped free—plink, plink, plink—until his joy spilled into the dark for everyone to see.

Ever since that secret night, little monsters have worn striped horns to keep spare stars inside for happy emergencies. Next time you see stars around Pip, count them softly; one may still be giggling.
