Under the warm cupboard, Gobo rubbed flour on his paws and wanted the round cookie mold from the far shelf. He stepped from his cozy rug into the cupboard tunnel, where crumbs went tick-tick under his toes. Halfway there, a small voice rang, “Careful!” A beetle wearing a thimble helmet guarded a silver crumb bell.
To pass, Gobo paid one bite from his cookie. The beetle showed him how to press crumbs into clay and poke holes with a straw. Gobo carried home no mold, but a lumpy cookie chime he had made himself.
