🎨 How to color it

Color the parrot with emerald wings, a sunny yellow chest, a coral-orange beak, and deep teal tail feathers against lime banana leaves and pink bell flowers. Use sharp colored pencils for the feather layers and leaf veins, then switch to smoother strokes on the larger banana leaves. Try hiding a few tiny gold speckles in the moss on the branch, as if the jungle tucked away its own secret sparkle.

High above the steamy green floor, Zuri zipped from vine to vine, chasing a click-click-click that skipped through the rainforest like pebbles in a tin cup. The air smelled of wet bark and sweet bell flowers. Every time the sound bounced off a banana leaf, Zuri tilted her head and laughed, “Again!” She landed on a mossy branch to listen harder, claws hugging the damp wood while palm fronds shivered around her.

The clicks grew faster when the sun slid between the leaves. Zuri tapped the branch with her beak—tok, tok—and the moss answered—click, click-click! She was not looking for treasure, only for the place where the noise began, so curiosity pulled her beak beneath a soft green flap of moss. There, hidden where nobody thought to look, sat a tiny round seed shell, polished smooth as a button and full of trapped echoes.

Zuri pressed it once. The whole canopy replied: leaves clapped, blossoms chimed, vines hummed, and far below, frogs added rubbery plunks. The click was not calling her away; it was inviting the jungle to play along. Next time you spot Zuri on her mossy branch, see if you can guess which little patch is hiding the sky button that goes click-click-click.
