Behind the tall daisies, Bramble kept a tiny shelf with exactly one empty cup on it. He wanted the brightest petal in the garden to stand inside, so he tiptoed past the minty leaves and buzzing bees before breakfast.
At the far tulip, a pale moth clung to the stem, trembling in the cool shade. “Don’t tell,” Bramble whispered, and nudged his warm nose under the flower until it bent like a little umbrella. The best red petal tore loose and floated down, but Bramble tucked it over the moth instead of into his mane.
He came home with no petal, only golden dust on his nose and a secret flutter in his chest. If you spot the pony smiling among the butterflies, maybe you know where the brightest petal went.
