Every day, Pip rang the brass bell—ding-ding!—and drove the little steam train around Cloverbend Hills, past daisies, bushes, and three nosy clouds. He wanted to reach the picnic stop before the cocoa cooled. Until one day, a tiny cloud plopped onto the track with a paper ticket stuck to its fluffy chin.
“Window seat, please!” squeaked the cloud. Because of that, Pip slowed so suddenly that the cars bumped, clack-clack-clunk. Because of THAT, the train’s smoke curled up and tickled the cloud until it hiccuped rainbows all over the rails. Finally, Pip waved the cloud into the warm smoke trail, where it floated along like a silly passenger. Next time those puffs climb over the engine, can you spot the cloud still riding there?
