Every evening, before the water cooled, Nico tapped each bubble with his nose and tried to count to one hundred. The bathroom smelled like mint shampoo, the faucet went tik-tik-tik, and his paws made tiny waves against the tub. He had reached sixty-two three nights in a row—until one day a clump of foam slid down his ear and made a perfect arrow.
Because of that, Nico forgot the count and chased the arrow with a splash that sent bubbles bouncing off the tiles. Because of that, his rubber duck spun backward, bumped the soap dish, and uncovered a tiny blue button shaped like a shell. “Adventure button!” barked Nico, and he pressed it with one wet paw.
A warm gush burst from the faucet, lifting the bubbles into hills and tunnels. Nico paddled to the tallest foam island, found the duck waiting like a captain, and finally discovered what the challenge had been hiding: not one hundred bubbles, but one hundred places to wonder. If you spot the shell-shaped clue among the suds, Nico might let you name the next island before the water cools.
