🎨 How to color it

Color the two ice cream scoops strawberry pink and vanilla cream, the cherry ruby red, the waffle cone golden brown, and the flowers sunny yellow and lavender. Use sharp crayons or colored pencils for the cone’s crisscross diamonds and the tiny sprinkle shapes, then fill the big scoops with smooth, easy strokes. Try making every other sprinkle blue and purple so the cherry on top feels like the secret prize.

Behind the big hill, where the grass smelled warm and sweet, Tilly carried her plain cone to the flower field cart. She wanted one cherry, just one, the shiny kind that made a scoop feel fancy. The bell on the cart went ting-ting, but a sign said, NO CHERRIES LEFT. So Tilly stepped past the daisies to ask Mr. Plink, who guarded the sprinkle jar. “Psst,” he said, “try the bottom.”

Tilly tipped the jar, and under the last rattly sprinkles hid a tiny blue token. It was enough for the very last cherry, tucked behind the napkins where nobody had looked. Tilly bought it, then saw a smaller kid staring at a droopy cone with no topping at all. While Mr. Plink counted napkins, Tilly slipped the cherry onto that cone and hurried back with extra sprinkles instead. If you peek at the tall cone in the flowers, can you keep Tilly’s sprinkle-secret?
