🎨 How to color it

Try slate gray for the wolf’s angular face, icy blue for the eye shadows, silver for the crescent moon, and soft charcoal on the nose. Because the fur is built from many narrow triangles, use sharp colored pencils and fill one mirrored pair at a time to keep the design balanced. Add a gentle moonlit gradient, fading from deep navy near the crescent to pale blue around the wolf’s ears.

Beside the warm den wall, Fenn rubbed two clear pebbles together, click-click, trying to make a moon-glass pendant before the pack’s quiet song. His paws grew dusty, and every pebble stayed dull. So he stepped beyond the sagebrush, across the cool glass dunes, where the sand chimed softly under his pads and smelled faintly of rain on stone.

A green spark blinked inside a cracked bottle half-buried in the dune. “Too much pushing,” said a firefly no bigger than a thorn. She showed him how to warm the pebbles over a blue ground-flame, turn them with a twig, and press them gently into a crescent mold. Fenn singed one whisker and dropped his favorite feather into the fire, but the glass curved bright and smooth under his own muddy paws.

Back home, the pack sang low as wind in fur. Fenn hung the little crescent by the den door, not perfect, but shining with his paw marks. Can you find the moon shape he worked so carefully to make, born from that first click-click?
