Under the quiet garden leaves, Pippa carried a tiny pink button in her pocket. It was smooth from rubbing, warm from her hand, and much too small for anyone else to notice. She set it beside the smiling daisy and waited while bees hummed sleepy songs.
The sun slid lower. Pippa did not hurry. A soft flutter brushed the air—whish, hush—and a butterfly with bright eyes settled above the flower. “Hello,” Pippa whispered.
Then the button gave one little glow. It was not a button after all, but a moon seed, waiting for patient wings. Hearts and stars shimmered around the butterfly like quiet lanterns. Look back at the tiny hearts near the garden flower—you can almost see the moon seed shining, smooth and warm from her hand.
