Under the moon garden’s cool blue hush, Pippa tapped her petals and whispered, “Find three stars, win one wish.” She had invented the Secret Star Game, but her own wreath had no glow. So she slipped from her snug vine circle, past wet leaves that tickled her stem, to the old mushroom where silver dust smelled like rain.
A tiny moth bumped the dark. Pippa had only one pinch of dust, just enough for her game. She sprinkled it on the path instead. “This way,” she said softly.
