Under the breakfast table, Tilly patted flour dough with both front paws: plop, plop, squish. She wanted to make a trail of pretend paw stamps for Dad’s birthday card. The kitchen smelled like toast, and flour dust tickled her nose. She pressed one paw, then two, then hopped over her work with a proud little chirp. “Made it myself!” she mewed, flicking her curly tail.
Her stuffed mouse sat nearby, quiet as a button. When Tilly bounced past it, a tiny flap under its felt belly popped open. Out slid a rubber stamp shaped exactly like a kitten paw, tucked where nobody ever looked. Tilly blinked, then laughed so hard her whiskers shook. She stamped the card three times, added one real flour paw beside them, and gave the mouse a crumb crown. Look near the little mouse again—you can almost hear Tilly saying, “Made it myself!”
