🎨 How to color it

Color the mermaid tail with turquoise scales, lavender fins, bright green seaweed, and a peach scallop shell. Use chunky crayons to fill the big scale shapes one by one, and don’t worry if little hands go over the thick black lines. Try making every other scale a slightly lighter turquoise so the tail looks gently wavy.

Under a swish-swish kelp blanket, Lumi tapped her tail and listened for a shell chime. Plink? Not yet. She slipped out into the bubble forest, where the water felt cool on her fins.

A tiny sea snail was pushing a peach shell. “Slow, please,” it whispered. Lumi waited. Pop, pop went the bubbles. At last, the shell opened and sang, ting-ting, softer than moonlight. Lumi carried the sound home in her smile. Can you find the patient little shell beside the swish-swish kelp?
