🎨 How to color it

Color the monster truck cherry red, the plow blade icy blue, the pine trees deep green, and the curling exhaust light gray. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big truck panels and snowbanks, then trace the tire treads slowly with a darker color if your child enjoys details. Add a pale lavender shadow under the plowed snow so the white drifts still look snowy.

By the pine hills, a warm salt shed glowed yellow, and Rusk rolled toward it with sleepy tires. He wanted one quiet rest before the next snow. Then he heard tin-tin under the wind, so soft it might have been a snowflake knocking.

Rusk eased off the packed road. His plow scraped shhh, shhh, and cold powder puffed over his hood. The bell sound hid inside the tallest snowbank, where nobody had looked because the drift seemed too plain and lumpy.

“Wait for me,” Rusk rumbled. One careful push, then another, and the snow opened around a tiny buried trail sign with a silver bell tied to it. Now every truck could find the curve home. Next time you see Rusk’s plow by that fluffy bank, can you guess where the tin-tin was hiding?
