🎨 How to color it

Color the muscle car cherry red, the side flames golden yellow and orange, the honeycomb grilles charcoal gray, and the tires deep black. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny grille hexagons and wheel spokes, then switch to markers for the wide hood, doors, and fenders. Try a darker red along the lower body panels so the flame decals look warm against a glossy shine.

Under the warm garage light, Soren kept a chipped brass key tag hooked beside his steering wheel and nudged it whenever the rafters creaked. He wanted one thing before night tide: a new wick for the little lamp over his parking bay. Without it, the garage would go dark and hollow, and the rain would sound too big on the roof.

So Soren rolled out past the oil-smelling workbench and down toward the ferry docks, where fog curled like wool around the bollards. Salt spray freckled his windshield. At the chandlery, the owner had one wick left, but Soren’s coins had bounced out over the cobbles during the trip. He offered the key tag instead. The owner turned it over and whispered, “This belongs to Pier Shed Seven.”

Soren followed the tag’s stamped number to a small repair shed glowing with amber lanterns. Inside, tugboats, scooters, and one sleepy forklift made room as if they had been saving a spot. The chipped tag opened a cupboard full of spare wicks, and Soren brought one home—but he also brought the shed’s soft clangs and salty laughter in his engine. Next time you see his curling flames and bright grille, can you spot the car who found more than a warm garage light?
