🎨 How to color it

Color the kitten silver gray, the striped party hat teal and purple, the bow tie cherry red, and the midnight clock warm gold. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny confetti curls, star points, snowflake branches, and clock numbers so the little shapes stay crisp. Try a deep blue-to-violet glow around the clock, leaving the kitten’s bright eyes and party horn extra lively.

The story behind this coloring page

Nola Saves the First Chime — On the roof above Bellweather Station, the cold air smelled like snow and chimney smoke. Read the full story →

On the roof above Bellweather Station, the cold air smelled like snow and chimney smoke. Nola tucked her velvet bow under one paw and listened as the great clock hummed toward twelve. She had polished the brass railing, set paper stars along the tiles, and left a sugared almond on every pigeon perch, though no one had seen her do it.

The city below grew silver and quiet. Nola lifted the party horn she had found beside a crate of lanterns, ready to greet the first chime with one bright toot. Before she blew, a soft rattle came from inside the curled paper tube—tick, whisper, tick.

Out slid a tiny note wrapped around a blue feather: For the helper with quiet paws. The pigeons had hidden it there, under the place nobody thought to look. Nola laughed so gently the horn only peeped, and the clock answered with twelve golden sounds. “Happy new hush,” she whispered.

Snowflakes turned over the rooftop like little wheels. Next time you spot Nola’s raised party horn, can you imagine the feather still tucked inside, waiting beside the first chime?
