🎨 How to color it

Color the otter a soft chestnut brown, the rubber duck sunny yellow, the claw-foot tub creamy white, and the flowerpot leaves fresh green. Use smooth marker fills for the otter’s round belly and the tub, then switch to a sharp pencil for the whiskers, tile lines, and mirror streaks. Try a pale blue wash in the bathwater and leave a few white ripples around the duck so it looks freshly bobbed.

The story behind this coloring page

Elowen Follows the Quiet Quack — Behind the warm pipes, something went tik-tik-tik against the tile. Read the full story →

Behind the warm pipes, something went tik-tik-tik against the tile. Elowen tucked her favorite bath pebble under one paw, blinked steam from her whiskers, and reached for the brass soap dish where it always waited. Empty. The room smelled of lavender suds and wet stone. Then a tiny rubber duck bumped the tub rim, gave one soft squeak, and drifted toward the drain as if it knew a secret route.

“I only need my pebble back,” Elowen whispered, sliding out of her cozy hollow with a splash that chilled her toes. She padded across the cool floor, past the towel that brushed like a sleepy cloud, and followed the duck’s squeak to a loose tile below the mirror. Behind it, a narrow pipe hummed. Inside sat her pebble, balanced beside three button-sized shells and a note scratched in soap: FOR THE ONE WHO LISTENS.

Elowen paid for the trip with one shiver and a very soapy elbow, but she carried back more than the pebble. The duck came too, bobbing beside her like a question that had learned to float. Next time you spot it tucked under her paw, listen close for the warm pipes going tik-tik-tik.
