🎨 How to color it

Give the T. rex a bright leaf green, the pirate hat a deep black, the open treasure chest a warm brown, and the coins a shiny yellow. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big dinosaur body and palm leaves, and do not worry if little hands color across the tiny map paths. Try making the dotted treasure trail red so it pops against the sandy island.

Under the clack-clack palms, Quill tapped his map and made a dare: he would follow every dotted bend before opening the chest. The red X sat close, but the path curled past warm sand, a tide hum, and a tiny ship bobbing far out. “No stomping shortcuts,” Quill whispered.

He stepped off his cozy hammock spot and counted slow steps. One shell pinched his toe. One coconut bonked his hat. At last, Quill reached the chest, puffing sea-salt air, and lifted the lid. Coins winked inside, but under them lay a note: WAIT FOR THE THIRD WAVE.

So Quill waited. Swish, swish, hush—the third wave slid back and uncovered a little tunnel of sparkling shells leading home. Next time you see his dotted map, can you trace the patient path from the clack-clack palms?
