🎨 How to color it

Color the daisy petals soft ivory, the packed center golden yellow, the serrated leaves deep green, and the thin background stems sage. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny seed shapes in the center, then switch to smooth strokes along each long petal and leaf vein. Try a faint blush of pale peach near the petal bases so the white daisy still feels bright but not empty.

The story behind this coloring page

Behind the potting shed, Ren counted moonseeds into a tin: tick, tick, tick. One seed was missing, and the nursery bell would ring soon. Ren slid under the bench, searched the damp gravel, and even checked the cuff of their sock. Nothing but the peppery smell of soil and a worm who looked offended.

So Ren stepped into the nursery rows, where tall leaves brushed their elbows and the afternoon hummed. A thorn nicked their thumb when they reached too fast. Ren almost turned back, but a big daisy kept facing the sun as if it knew a secret. “All right,” Ren whispered, “what are you hiding?” They waited. A breeze lifted the petals one by one, and in the packed golden center, tucked between seed bumps, shone the moonseed—and a tiny paper curl marked WAIT FOR DUSK.

Ren came back with the seed, thumb stinging, pockets smelling of green stems. That evening, the moonseed opened only after the bell stopped ringing. If you study the daisy’s busy center, you might spot the place where patience kept its secret: tick, tick, tick.
