In the quiet bedroom nook, a sunbeam slid across the windowsill like warm honey. Tula wanted the coziest nap before the afternoon bell rang, so she circled the pillow once, twice, then stopped. Something made a tiny crinkle under the cotton. Not a mouse. Not a crumb. “Psst,” whispered the potted sprout, “wait for it.” So Tula waited, paws tucked, while the curtain swished and the books smelled dusty and sweet.
At last the sunbeam reached the pillow’s middle. Pop! Out slipped a flat silver seed, hidden where nobody ever thought to look. Tula pressed it gently with one paw, then the other, pat-pat, pat-pat, until it softened into the first dream-cloud. She slept on it all afternoon, smiling. Ever since, cats pat their pillows before napping, just in case another dream-cloud seed is hiding there; can you spot the patient paws ready to pat-pat?
