🎨 How to color it

Color the nurse’s scrubs sky blue, the teddy bear honey brown, the flowered blanket butter yellow, and the little plant fresh green. Use chunky crayons or broad marker strokes for the big scrubs, blanket, and bed rails, then save a sharper pencil for the tiny crosses and bandage stripes. Try making the clouds pale lavender so the warm teddy and yellow blanket feel extra cozy.

The story behind this coloring page

Why Bed Rails Hug — Under the soft tick-tick clock, Lina carried a blue ribbon in her pocket. Read the full story →

Under the soft tick-tick clock, Lina carried a blue ribbon in her pocket. It had tied her grandmother’s first toy blanket, and Lina wanted it near while she tucked every stuffed patient in for the night.

Then Nuzzle Bear’s blanket slid with a whispery shush. His bandage wobbled. The bed’s straight rails stood stiff and far apart, not holding anything. Lina looped the ribbon from one rail to the other and gave it a gentle pull. “There, snug as soup,” she said. The rails bent inward just a little, like arms remembering how to hug.

Nuzzle Bear sighed, the plant leaves stopped trembling, and even the moonlight settled on the pillow. Ever since that night, little bed rails lean in close, so every patient feels exactly where they belong. Can you find the cozy rails still hugging the bed?
