Under the snowy tent, Quilla stacked paper, ribbon, and one bumpy blue button. She wanted to make a present box that could hold three winter twinkles without letting them slip out. Snip-snip went her scissors. Scritch-scratch went the cold wind along the tent cloth.
At last, she tied the bow with her own hooves. “Stay, little lights,” Quilla whispered. The twinkles did not stay inside. They popped out, kissed the box, and left star marks all over it.
