Under a soft sprinkle of star-dots, Fenn tucked his little tail around a dust pillow and wished for one bedtime glow. The planet huddle above him hummed low, mmm-mmm, but no glow fell down. So Fenn whooshed out from his cozy spot and drifted toward the round, smiling worlds. Space felt cool on his nose. He asked, “May I have one tiny shine?” The planets whispered, “Wait with us.”
Fenn waited so long that his tail stopped crackling and turned smooth as silk. He peeked behind rings, between stripes, and under bumpy moon spots. Nothing. Then the biggest planet gave a slow, sleepy wiggle. From the place nobody checked—right underneath the huddle—rolled a warm moonbean, small as a pea. Fenn carried it home, not fast, not loud. Next time you spot his quiet comet tail, can you find the glow he waited for?
