Under the tick-tick sun, Rilo tapped one metal toe and set his challenge: three warm puffs before the light slipped behind the peaks. He left his soft fern nest, clank-clank, past pebble puddles and whispery grass. A sharp stone nicked his shiny foot, but he kept going, curious about the cozy cloud smell ahead.

He carried it home under his chin, softer than steam. Next time you see his lifted foot, can you guess which pebble made him brave?
