On city hill, Zippy planted his boots wide and put both fists on his belt. The parade drums went boom-bum below, and his new cape snapped like a red towel in the wind. He wanted to do his very first superhero pose without wobbling. “Steady, boots,” he whispered.
A warm sparkle plinked beside his ear. One paper-flat star floated down, then another, smelling faintly like toasted marshmallows. They copied his grin. When Zippy lifted his chin, the stars lifted their points. When he puffed out his chest, they puffed too—until one sneezed glitter right onto his mask.
