🎨 How to color it

Color the frosting swirl buttercream ivory, the cupcake liner cherry red, the piping bag pale blue, and the loose sprinkles lemon yellow and berry pink. Use sharp colored pencils for the many curved frosting grooves, turning the page as you follow each spiral toward the center. For extra motion, shade the frosting from pale peach at the outer ring to bright vanilla at the tiny middle point.

Every afternoon, Gio balanced his bent whisk wire against his wrapper and watched it twitch toward the warm smell of vanilla. He wanted to know why it always pointed past the sprinkle jar, but the tall piping bag blocked the way with a soft, sugary hiss.

Until one day, the wire spun so fast it ticked like a beetle. Because of that, Gio rolled after it across the wooden prep counter, bumping a measuring spoon with a clang. Because of THAT, a rain of round sprinkles skittered into the frosting spiral, making a dotted trail that curled tighter and tighter.

At the center, the wire stopped beside a sugar pearl no bigger than a seed. Inside it glowed a tiny map of tomorrow’s flavor: lemon, thunder, and a dash of sea salt. “Adventure,” Gio whispered. If you spot the smallest pearl near the swirl, dare your eyes to follow Gio’s trail back through the warm smell of vanilla.
