🎨 How to color it

Color the adult triceratops moss green, the baby a lighter fern green, the spotted eggs cream with teal dots, and the big overhead leaves deep jungle green. Use sharp colored pencils for the nest’s many twigs and the leaf veins, then switch to broader strokes on the dinosaurs’ bodies and the smooth stepping stones. Add a secret glow around the eggs with pale yellow shading so the nest feels like the mysterious heart of the scene.

The story behind this coloring page

Under the broad night leaves, Naro carried an empty seed-shell cup in his mouth, careful not to wake the snoring herd. He wanted moonwater from the little spring before the heat came. Past the sleeping tails and warm fern beds, he stepped onto cold stones that clicked under his toes. A sweet, grassy smell drifted from the dark. Then came a sound: hum-hum-hush, too soft for thunder, too steady for bugs.

Naro followed it and found a nest tucked beside the spring, woven with silver grass. Two spotted eggs trembled, humming like tiny drums. Beside them stood an old triceratops he had never seen, her horns pale as shells. “Not all paths lead away,” she whispered. “Some show you where you fit.” Naro gave the eggs his moonwater. The humming changed to a warm, bright purr, and the spring bubbled higher, filling his cup again.

He carried it back slower than before, listening to the stones, the leaves, and the herd breathing together. At dawn, Naro tucked his cup beside his mother’s foot and settled into the exact curve waiting for him. If you spot the nest near the leaves, keep the secret: it still hums under the broad night leaves.
