🎨 How to color it

Try icy teal for the six skate boots, deep navy for the patterned center puck, silver gray for the rink nets, and cranberry red for the small stars. Use sharp colored pencils and color the narrow scrolls from the outer points inward so the mirrored leaves and skate laces stay crisp. For a playful finish, make each pair of skates a slightly different shade of teal, as if the mandala is spinning under arena lights.

The story behind this coloring page

Bram’s Sneaky Circle Game — After the last whistle, Bram stayed on the ice and set one puck at center like a fancy dessert no one was allowed to eat. Read the full story →

After the last whistle, Bram stayed on the ice and set one puck at center like a fancy dessert no one was allowed to eat. He had invented Orbit Puck, a game with no goals, no winner, and only one rule: every pass had to curl around the puck before reaching the next skater. The blades whispered shhhk-shhhk over the cold surface, and the rubber smelled faintly of snow tires.

The game grew sillier on its own. A wide loop became a bow. A tight loop became a secret signature. Bram added a tiny shoulder wiggle whenever he passed, and soon everyone was copying it badly, which made it better. Above them, the old rink organ hummed a waltz with suspiciously perfect timing: three notes for three strides, a trill for every spin.

Then Bram noticed the puck was not the center of the game at all. In the empty stands, Mrs. Voss had turned the organ’s song into a map, guiding every loop like a mischievous compass. Bram lifted his stick in salute; she answered with a honk so grand it sounded illegal. The skaters circled, the music circled, and Bram knew he had invented exactly the place where he already belonged, with one puck at center like a fancy dessert no one was allowed to eat.
