🎨 How to color it

Color Jesus’ robe soft ivory with a sky-blue sash, give the hillside fresh greens, the distant mountains lavender gray, and the birds warm brown. Use sharp colored pencils for the many robe folds, sandals, small grass tufts, and winding road, then switch to lighter side-strokes for the open sky. Try a gentle sunrise glow behind the clouds so the seated crowd feels gathered in a quiet, early-morning secret.

The story behind this coloring page

Why Hills Keep Echoes — Before the sun warmed the stones, Kezia slipped up the meadow with a little clay cup bumping her wrist. Read the full story →

Before the sun warmed the stones, Kezia slipped up the meadow with a little clay cup bumping her wrist. She wanted one clear word from the teacher to carry back to her mother, but the hillside was full of sandals scuffing, sheep bells clinking, and birds crying over the valley. Every time Jesus spoke, a taller listener leaned, a cloak rustled, or the wind combed the grass flat.

Kezia crept behind a crooked tree and whispered, “Please, hill, hold still.” Something answered from the rocks: “Still.” She froze. It was not loud, only a soft returning, like water poured into a jar. When Jesus raised his hand and spoke of the quiet heart, the stone under him sent the last word around the slope. Quiet. Quiet. Quiet.

Kezia stepped out, knees prickling with grass, and said the word with everyone else. Ever since that morning, hills have kept a small echo for brave listeners, sending back what matters most. If you study the slope where the people sit, can you find the place where Kezia first heard the hill say, “Still”?
