Under the warm morning sun, Liam carried a paper shield into the name garden. He wanted to know why the smiling stars kept pointing their tips toward it. Leaves tickled the path, clouds hummed “mmm-mmm,” and the shield felt smooth and cool in his hands. “What are you showing me?” Liam whispered.
The stars did not answer. They only grinned wider. Liam traced the tall middle fold of the shield, then the big letters of his name, slow as a snail. Behind the letter A, where nobody had thought to peek, a tiny paper pocket opened. Inside was a silver seed no bigger than a raindrop. When Liam held it up, every cloud giggled, and a new little star sprouted in the sky. Next time you see Liam’s shield, can you find the place where the sky pocket was hiding?
