🎨 How to color it

Color the big patchwork heart in coral and rose, the stethoscope in teal, the medical cross in bright white with a blue outline, and the leafy corners in fresh green. Use sharp colored pencils for the zigzag heartbeat and small leaf veins, then switch to markers for the larger quilt-like sections inside the heart. Try alternating two warm pinks in the heart’s diagonal panels so the teal stethoscope really pops.

The story behind this coloring page

Under the striped roof of Briar Hall, Junie tapped her pencil on a clipboard: tick-tick, wait, tick-tick. The midnight health festival hummed around her—sneaker squeaks, lemon ice, bicycle bells—and she wanted to record the famous “garden pulse” everyone whispered about. Her stethoscope swung against her backpack as she counted between sounds, longer and longer, until the crowd’s clatter slid away.

At the far corner, where vines curled over the tent ropes, a tiny answer tapped back from inside a wooden seed box. Tap…tap-tap. Junie held her breath. A silver-haired botanist popped up from behind the table, grinning. “Quiet hands hear quick roots,” he said, and opened the box to rows of heart-shaped seeds, each clicking softly as moon-warm water woke them.

Junie placed her stethoscope near the box, not on it, and waited through three whole breaths. The seeds clicked, the vines rustled, and her pencil found the rhythm at last: tick-tick, wait, tick-tick. If you trace the looping tube and the jagged beat next time, you may hear which patient little seed answered first.
