Behind the dandelion hill, Tibby made up a game called hop-and-hide. She wanted every painted egg tucked before the butterflies counted three wing-flaps, but the meadow grass tickled her paws and the basket handle creaked, eek-eek. The first hiding spot was across the curvy path, where no puppy had hopped before.
“Psst—ears up,” whispered a butterfly. Tibby slipped on the soft bunny ears from the flower pile. They wobbled, but she hopped once, then twice, and hid the speckled egg by the tulips.
