🎨 How to color it

Color the bat soft lavender, the leafy branch warm brown with mint green leaves, and the crescent moon and stars buttery yellow. Use chunky crayons for the bat’s big wings and round face, and don’t worry if color hops over the thick lines a little. Try making the two hanging star strings pink and blue so they look like tiny bedtime charms.

Under the hushy canopy, Nola hung by her toes and made up a game called Guess the Glow. She wanted to name every tiny light before sleep. “Blink once for yes,” she whispered. The leaves smelled cool and green, and the branch went creak-creak above her.

But the moon yawned so wide it forgot which stars were which. Nola wrapped her wings around herself and listened: ping, wink, shimmer, hush. Each star answered with its own little sparkle. Nola giggled and named them one by one, until the sky was no longer mixed up.

Ever since then, stars twinkle because they are answering their names. Next time you see Nola upside down in the branches, can you find the first star that whispered back?
