🎨 How to color it

Color the bat soft charcoal gray, its inner ears rosy pink, the crescent moon buttery yellow, and the big stars golden orange. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the wide bat wings, then trace the wing lines gently so little hands do not have to stay perfect. Try making the stars alternate orange and lemon yellow, like a secret path across the night.

The story behind this coloring page

Pip’s Secret Star Snack — Under the orchard roof, Pip sniffed the air. Moonberry crumbs! Read the full story →

Under the orchard roof, Pip sniffed the air. Moonberry crumbs! They smelled like sugar and cold leaves, and they were waiting on the far fence. Pip tucked his toes tighter around his branch. The open sky looked very big.

Then a tiny star blinked beside him and whispered, “Psst. I know a shortcut.” Pip fluttered out—flap, flap, wobble—and followed it past scratchy twigs and one drippy leaf that plopped right on his nose. At the fence, the crumbs were gone. But the star had left him something better: a shiny silver seed that chimed when he held it. Pip flew home with his wings a little wider. Next time you see the smiling moon, maybe you can spot his secret path across the night.
