🎨 How to color it

Color the diplodocus mint green, the swirl and spot patterns sunny yellow, the leafy branch bright jungle green, and the big footprint sandy tan. Use crayons or markers for the wide neck, belly, and legs, then switch to a sharper pencil for the little curls inside the footprint. Try making the round spots on the dinosaur match the tiny circles on the branch, like secret trail dots.

The story behind this coloring page

Zetti’s Patient Footprint Parade — Across the sunprint flats, Zetti lifted one big foot and pressed it into warm, chalky mud. Read the full story →

Across the sunprint flats, Zetti lifted one big foot and pressed it into warm, chalky mud. She wanted a stomp parade all the way to the leaf fans, so she counted, “One squish, two squish,” and waited after every step. Wind brushed the tall leaves with a shh-shh sound. Beetles clicked past. Zetti did not hurry, even when the mud tickled between her toes.

By the leaf fans, the last print dried slower than all the others. Zetti leaned close and smelled wet earth and green stems. Then the mud lines changed in the sunlight: tiny leaf shapes, curls, and dots appeared inside the print, as if the ground had been saving a secret map. “Oh!” said Zetti. She followed the little leafy marks and found new shoots peeking up where her parade had waited. Next time you see Zetti’s big foot near the leaves, can you spot the quiet surprise that patience left behind?
