🎨 How to color it

Give the fish a sunny orange body, rosy pink cheeks, teal fins, and pale blue bubbles above its smile. Use chunky crayons or washable markers to fill the big round face and wide tail, and don’t worry if little hands color past the bold lines. For a fun twist, make each scalloped scale a different bright color, like a tiny handmade rainbow on the fish’s side.

Tap-tap, swish-swish! Dax rolled pebbles into a little circle on the wavy sand. He wanted to make a bubble drum with his own fins. Seaweed tickled his tail, and shells clicked clack-clack nearby.

He patted one shell on top. Plop! Four bubbles bounced up, shiny and round. Then—ping!—a tiny starfish popped from under the shell and wiggled like a bell.

“I made music!” Dax sang. The bubbles bobbed, the starfish rang, and Dax puffed up proud. Can you spot the shell that hid the ping in Dax’s tap-tap, swish-swish sea?
