🎨 How to color it

Color the husky’s back and face markings icy gray, the fluffy chest bright white, the collar deep red, and the tag golden yellow. Use sharp colored pencils for the narrow fur tufts inside the ears and along the cheeks, then fill the wider chest and legs with smooth, light strokes. Try making the two paw prints different shades of blue, as if this smiling husky just stepped out of secret snow.

At the tundra post, before the lamps hissed awake, a husky named Niko nosed his supper biscuit into two neat halves. He wanted one half for the shy little pup who slept beneath the mail shed, but the iron door had frozen shut with a glassy skrrrk. The other dogs were busy arguing over harness bells, and nobody saw Niko press his warm nose to his collar tag, thinking, If only I could leave a trail she would understand.

Now here is the secret part: under that plain tag, where nobody ever thought to look, was a tiny moon-shell. It had ridden there since Niko was a puppy, clicking softly whenever he did something generous with no audience at all. That night it clicked three times. The snow under Niko’s front paws puffed up, round and bright, and two perfect paw signs appeared beside him like little doors. “Follow these,” Niko whispered.

The hidden pup found the biscuit half before dawn, and ever since, husky paw prints show more than where a dog has been. If you catch two big prints near a sitting husky, you may have found the quiet map of a kindness nobody was watching.
