Every day after the leaves went swish-swish, Pip dragged his bowl to the sunny patch by the daisies and waited for crunchies. He tapped one paw. Clink! His tail thumped. Thump! Then one day, a huge bone rolled from under the leaf pile and said, “Ahem.”
Because of that, Pip dropped his crunchies into the daisies. Because of THAT, three sparrows swooped down for a feast, and the bone hopped into Pip’s bowl like it owned the place. Pip giggled, nudged the bowl, and sent the bossy bone wobble-wobble across the grass. Finally, it bonked a pumpkin, sneezed out crumbs, and became the best lunch table in the yard. Next time you see Pip’s raised paw, can you spot the spot where the bone first said, “Ahem”?
