🎨 How to color it

Color the vampire’s cape deep black with a crimson lining, the jack-o’-lantern bright orange, the treat bag tan, and the crooked rooftops smoky purple. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny bats, spiderwebs, window panes, and cobblestones, then switch to broader strokes for the moonlit sky and tree crowns. Try making every glowing window a different warm yellow, as if each house is keeping its own small Halloween secret.

Under a moon curved like a silver grin, Luca set himself a challenge: he would visit seven doors without stepping on the same cobblestone twice. His treat bag rustled with caramel apples, licorice bats, and one peppermint that smelled sharp as winter. The village lanes twisted between tall roofs and whispery trees, but Luca counted carefully, heel-to-toe, cape brushing the cool stones. Somewhere above, a bat squeaked, “Left!” though the signpost pointed right.

Luca went right. The street narrowed, the windows glowed honey-yellow, and the air tasted of chimney smoke. At the seventh door, no one answered—only three soft knocks came from under the step. Luca crouched and found a loose cobblestone shaped like a tiny moon. Beneath it waited a folded map, blank except for one sentence: A path belongs where it brings you back.

He placed the moon-stone in the empty gap by his shoe. Click. Every lane in Moonvein Village gave a gentle shiver, curling itself toward porches, friends, and lit windows. Ever since, the village paths bend a little on Halloween, guiding each wanderer to the corner where they belong—and if you follow Luca’s cobblestones, can you find the one that remembers the silver grin?
