🎨 How to color it

Color the turtle’s shell sea-glass green, its flippers soft teal, the little waves sky blue, and the seashell peachy pink. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big shell plates, and do not worry if the color hops over the thick lines. For extra sparkle, leave the star shapes in the eyes white and add tiny yellow dots around the waves.

Every evening, Pip paddled past the reef bells, tap-tap-tapping each tide pool with one flipper. He wanted to hear the tiny plinks that meant the moon was rising. Until one day, a peach shell opened under him and hummed with blue light.

Because of that, Pip forgot to tap the next pool. Because of THAT, the shy silver fish came out to see what had made the water shine. Soon crabs, minnows, and one sleepy eel drifted close. “Come listen,” Pip whispered. The shell sang plink, plink, plume, and the joy in Pip’s chest felt too big for one turtle.
