🎨 How to color it

Layer the turtle’s shell in deep teal and jade, color the flowing seaweed olive green, and give the starfish warm coral with pearl-white shells around the border. Use sharp colored pencils for the shell’s tight curls and leaf shapes, then switch to smoother strokes along the wide ribbons of water. Try a cool blue-to-aqua wash behind the turtle so the coral starfish and patterned shell feel bright and celebratory.

The story behind this coloring page

Each dawn, Zana raced the scrollwork tide garden before the trumpet shells finished their brassy call, counting every cold ribbon of current against her flippers. She wanted one perfect lap: no pause, no wobble, no glance aside. Then a sudden surge snapped loose the garden’s silver kelp-bells and flung their notes into the dark lanes. Because of that, fish darted after the ringing fragments; because of that, starfish, snails, and shy eels joined the chase, laughing in bubbles. Zana forgot her count and led them in widening loops until the whole garden rang. “Again!” someone cried, and joy rushed faster than any private lap.
