🎨 How to color it

Color the crown band royal gold, the tall teardrop jewels ruby red, and the round gems bright turquoise. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the wide band first, then fill each pointed jewel inside the thick black lines. For a secret sparkle, make the middle tallest jewel fade from yellow at the bottom to orange at the tip.

Behind the courtyard steps, Tavi set a paper crown on a stone and whispered, “One cheer is not enough.” So Tavi invented the Crown Passing Game: whoever wore the crown had to add one happy sound. Clap-clap, hum-hum, tap-tap. The crown needed a bigger cheer, so Tavi stepped out where the fountain splashed cold mist on bare knees.

First came Juno with a whistle like a bird. Then Bram added two stomps that shook dust from the stones. Tavi paid a small price: the crown came back with a bent point and grape-juice spots. But the cheer had grown too big to hold. Tavi carried it home, grinning. Next time you see the tall middle point, shhh—can you hear the game starting again?
